## 12.25 CartesianCoordinates

This abstract *Structured DataType* is the base to define multi-dimensional cartesian coordinates. *CartesianCoordinates* describe a position in a cartesian coordinate system. A cartesian coordinate system is a coordinate system that specifies each point uniquely in a multi-dimensional space by a set of numerical coordinates, which are the signed distances to the point from fixed perpendicular oriented lines, measured in the same unit of length. There are no specific elements defined as shown in Table 249.
